Experiencing Hong Kong

The streets of Hong Kong were pretty interesting; there was so much going on that I even woke up for a few moments!

I was exhausted after listening to mum and dad's exclamations about the deliciousness of dumplings (from one of Hong Kong's excellent restaurants) while I ate my pureed veges; I guess I'll get to sample dumplings one of these days...

Still snoozing

In Hong Kong, there is a giant panda to represent each of the 10 years of 'independent' rule - here I am standing next to the one to mark the year of my birth.

I would have thought it was kind of cute ... so I'm told (I was snoozing again!)

Sightseeing in Hong Kong

Hey, this sling is great: I can see what's going on around me, and can still smile at all the passers-by!

We went for a wander through the botanic gardens and saw some groovy birds, monkeys and other animals. I had a great time, but Mum and Dad were complaining a bit about the heat/humidity - summer was possibly not the right time to visit Hong Kong!?

All that heat did go to my head a bit; to be honest, I missed quite a few of the sights because I was too busy snoozing!

Father's Day in Hong Kong

We arrived in Hong Kong today and found out that it is Father's Day here - kind of lucky since poor old Dad missed out on Father's Day in both Australia and the UK!

We had dinner in a nice restaurant overlooking the harbour, the meal was pretty good, but Dad seemed a bit tired; I don't know what this 'jetlag' is, though, since I had an excellent sleep in my bassinette on the plane!

Dad, don't worry about showing me how to use those chopsticks, just give me that piece of pork!

Our Happy Little Family

We have had a lovely time in Deniliquin, spending some time with Ginty and Pappy. It has been extremely hard saying goodbye! But we do have to go... back to Durham in just three days time. Im going to miss Australia, so many lovely cuddles everywhere I go.

PS: the hat I'm wearing was my mum's when she was my age - how cool is that!

For me?

Oh thanks Dad, is that lamington for me?

Ginty and Pappy

It was lovely seeing Ginty and Pappy again; I will really miss them...
It is such a long time till Christmas!

Kisses for Mum

I give my Mum lovely big kisses, but they must be a bit sloppy cause she often wipes her mouth afterwards!

Its Delicious!

Oh Mum, that apple rice cereal really is delicious!! Is there any more in there?

Wesley

Wesley is hilarious, he's such a giggler! He is quite a bit younger than me (he's only 5 months old) but he's huge!! It's kind of handy actually, since I got a whole pile of his clothes that are too small for him now!

Old Friends

We had a BBQ with a bunch of Dad's good friends from Melbourne Uni - Justin has been living in Sydney, so Mum and Dad were very pleased (and surprised) when he arrived.

I wasn't feeling too crash, though and spent the afternoon screaming in the bedroom...

Agggh; Its a Monster

Mum thought she was very strong to be able to let me out of the house with a big pimple on my chin... Does 'Mount Vesuvius' mean anything to you guys?

More please?

Lunch is sooo much nicer now that I have apple in my rice cereal; see, I've polished off the whole bowlful!

This pillow helps me sit up straight, but I haven't quite perfected it yet!

A playmate

Oh mum, this is great fun - Amelia and I have been having a good old chuckle..

and I can practice my rolls with Amelia to help me break my fall!

Sonia and kids

Mum went to visit Sonia, one of her friends from work. Sonia has 2 KIDS - so it was great spending time with people my own age!

Amelia was lots of fun and really nice, she's about 3 weeks younger than me but she's a bit bigger cause I'm still pretty small for my age.

Marcus is LOTS bigger, but he's lots older, too - he's 3.

Out and about.

Lots of people to meet and greet, lots of cuddles to be had, and lots of gushing, adoring adults. Would you expect anything else with one so gorgeous as I?
Here I am with my friend Laurie, who is blind. Lack of eyesight didnt stop her checking out what I felt like though.

And here are more cuddly friends, Ellen (l) and Sophie (r)O'Brien.

A poof for the boof.

It is great to know that bean bags come in my size, though I am not so sure about the name Dad gave it. Nice and comfy while I work on my sitting.

Surely you jest.

I know I fit in the box Dad, but I cant imagine they will let you put me in the cargo hold just to save on another ticket.

Big Shoes to Fill

My these are big shoes to fill...do I have to do a PhD too, Dad?

Solids for lunch - YUCK. (June 1st)

I was not impressed in the slightest with my introduction to "solids" - cold rice cereal with milk is not my idea of an inspiring lunch (and 'organic rice' didn't make it taste any better, mum)!!

Dad stood by and videod the 'momentous occasion' while I gagged, gulped and shuddered my way through the whole thing (I considered it more of an ordeal than an occasion!)

Big and Blue

Oh this shirt sets my eyes off just perfectly... it looks like they might be staying blue after all.

Tea Party

Now lets see...I'll have that one over there, please. Thank you dahhling. Oh I do love my tea-parties.

Long boy (May 26th)

I'll see if I can overshoot that towel Ma has put on her lap...she was kinda game to feed me while I have no pants on!
Look how tall I'm getting (66cm); Mum and Dad have started calling me 'big boofa'!! I guess this Aussie weather must be good for growing?!

Games with Ma

Ma has been teaching me some new songs which has been lots of fun - sometimes the song ends with a big tickle around the belly!

Grandma must be hungry?

You don't REALLY mean you're going to eat me all up, do you Greandma?!!

Blue Eyes

Hey, Uncle Mark, you have blue eyes just like mine!!

Mum and me

I know you're not used to getting your photo taken, Mum, but if you look up into that little silver box that Dad is holding, he will take a nice photo of us together.

Little Cousin

My cousin James was born on Jan 12, just after my due date, but he is a fair bit bigger than me; I think I still have a bit of catching up to do...

Uncle William, Liz and James

My spent the afternoon with my cousins Liz and James today - it is so great to meet people a bit closer to my own size, I was starting to get a complex!

Uncle William and Aunty Linda made a big feast and they tell me it was delicious, so again I'm going to be spoiled tomorrow!

Ignorance is bliss

I don't think Dad realises there has been a bit of spillage - I wonder if he would still be smiling if he knew he was just about to wear my lunch?

Mother's Day (May 13th)

It was Mum's first Mother's Day today, so Dad made her a big cooked breakfast which is excellent, I can look forward to that for tomorrow. I got her a card and some CDs and chocolates - I think she thought that was a pretty good deal since she says she loves being my Mum anyway.
After church, we went to the South Melbourne markets for a wander and then went to the Williamstown waterfront. It was a bit breezy, though; Mum forgot her jumper, so she had to sit with a blanket around her to keep the wind off both of us while I had my lunch!

Tall boy

They say I'm quite tall for my age, but this is another kind of tall altogether!
Things look very different from this angle, but I guess I have a few years to wait before I can see eye to eye with Dad and Pa while standing on my own two feet.

Quite comfortable

I find this chair quite comfortable, so I'll just make myself at home - you don't mind, do you Ma?

Grandpa

Grandpa is leaving for Sydney today, so I'm really glad he came over for a good old natter. Are you sure you can't stay for a bit longer Grandpa?
Hopefully next time I see you I will be able to say something a bit more profound ie anything other than 'aah' and 'oooh'.

Excursion

We went to the lake today and had a bit of a chat with the swans - they were a bit standoffish though, they just wandered off while I was trying to talk to them!!

You need to be a bit careful when you sit down, though, because they leave nasty surprises in the grass as Ma found out!

Laughs with Dad

I love sharing a joke with Daddy, he's hilarious!
ps how cool is this hat!

Such a Big Boy

Mum, do you mind...Ma and I were having a private conversation...
If you must know, Ma was just saying how much I have grown whilst I was away - I guess one month makes a big difference!

Home comforts (May 9th)

I was so excited to try out my bath when I got back to Melbourne - and I must say, it was so luxurious I felt like King Tut!

Mum thought these lounge chairs were a bit of a gimmick, but she's reconsidered now that she knows how much I love lying back and having a good kick in the water - and it means Dad can tickle and wash me at the same time!!

I seem to have grown lots lately, I now weigh around 13 pounds!

Modesty, schmodesty!!

What a little show pony!

Fun with Jack and Indy

It was great fun hanging out with my cousins - it will be so sad when I have to leave them to go home.

Jackson is so much bigger than me, he is 14 and already over 6 foot tall. India is almost 13 and is always on the phone!

Bonding with India

I had to make sure I was sick on my cousin India cause she calls me "Chucka".
